Winchester Upgrades Parking Meters
Digital mechanisms replaced mechanical parts on 100 meters in the downtown area. Meters on Piccadilly, Boscawen and parts of Braddock Streets were updated on Friday, May 21, 2010 and accommodate quarters, dimes, and nickels.
The mechanical meters did not allow those coins to be used and parts were becoming obsolete. Approximately 100 mechanical meters still exist but are planned for replacement in 2011.
