Obituary for Loretta K. Dunn

 

Mary Loretta Ketterer Dunn, 75 of Frederick County, Virginia, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 in her home.

Mrs. Dunn was born in 1936, in Trenton, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Frederic and Loretta Ketterer. She was a Counselor with Dunn Counseling Center and a Hospital Chaplain at Winchester Medical Center. Mrs. Dunn was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University receiving a Degree in Social Work and also a graduate of Antioch College, where she received a MS Degree in Clinical Psychology. Mrs. Dunn was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester.

She married Alan Gerald Dunn on May 25, 1963, in Arlington, Virginia.

Surviving with her husband, are three daughters, Kathel Dunn and her partner, Cheryl Chisnell of Takoma Park, Maryland, Clare Dunne of Falls Church, Virginia, Joy Dunn Weir and husband, John of Richmond, Virginia; two sons, Daniel Dunn of Romney, West Virginia and Timothy Dunn of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, three granddaughters, Colleen Dunn Weir, Maggie Bea Weir and Ada Marie Weir all of Richmond, Virginia; her sister, Barbara Neubauer and her husband, Jake, of Skowhegan, Maine; and two brothers, Richard “Rick” Ketterer of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Andrew “Drew” Ketterer and his wife Susanne of Maine.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating. A private interment will be in St. Leo Catholic Church Cemetery, Inwood, West Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 4:00-7:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A Prayer service will be conducted at 5:00 PM.

    I know the Ketterer siblings have shared a special and touching bond all these years. All exemplary individuals, my sincerest condolences to the family.
