Obituary for Douglas DeHaven
Douglas Eugene DeHaven, 78, of Winchester, VA passed away at the Winchester Medical Center on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Mr. DeHaven was born on December 20, 1931, in Winchester, the son of the late John Wesley and Cora Parker DeHaven. He was a 1950 graduate of Handley High School and served with the US Air Force. He retired from Abex Corp in 1997. He was a member of Market Street Methodist Church.
He is survived by the love of his life, Joan Marie Fuller DeHaven whom he married on October 25, 1952. In addition to his wife of fifty-seven years he is survived by his three children, Rick DeHaven of Winchester, Robin Gail and her husband Bob of Chesterfield, MO and Susie DeHaven of Stephens City, VA; four grandsons, Matt DeHaven and his wife, Natalie, Chris DeHaven, McKane Goldizen and his wife, Jennifer and Andy Gail; three great grandchildren, Finley DeHaven, Charli DeHaven and Kyan Goldizen; a brother, Leon DeHaven and his wife, Betty of Florida and a sister in law, Ruth DeHaven of Virginia.
A brother, Gerald DeHaven preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday July 25, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Avenue, Suite B, Winchester, VA 22601.
