Arthur “Steve” Stevenson Broughman, 71, of Winchester, Virginia, died Friday, May 4, 2012 in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Mr. Broughman was born in 1940, in Botetourt County, Virginia, the son of the late James and Nellie Broughman. He was a salesperson for Health, Food & Beauty, O’Sullivan and Sears. Mr. Broughman was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Winchester. He was a member of Winchester Eagles Aerie 824.

He married Linda Brannon on October 24, 1998 in Winchester.

Surviving with his wife are two step-sons, Charles Cunningham and wife Ann and Christopher Cunningham all of Winchester, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Ayers and one brother, James Broughman.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Vernon Bray officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Omps Funeral Home, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601, for the services of Mr. Broughman.

Mr. Edgar Allen “Bunk” Shifflett, age 74, of Middletown, VA, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, May 5, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Mr. Shifflett was born in 1938, the son of the late Denver Silas and Helen Shifflett. He was a retired supervisor of drill press operators, machinist and blacksmiths for Avtex Fibers and Ashworth Brothers. He loved turkey hunting, fishing, and Civil War history. He also was a craftsman. Mr. Shifflett was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Stephens City, VA. He was a veteran, having served in the Army National Guard.
He married Thelma Frances Fry on January 11, 1958 at Reliance Church, Reliance, VA.

He was a loving, giving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He touched everyone in his own special way. Never to be found selfish, was always apt to help everyone he met. He never considered anyone to be a stranger. His main conversation was about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his testimony of Salvation was the most important fact of life. He held onto the basics of living "Keep it Simple and do it in love." We know Gods saying "This is another one of my sons, in whom I’m well pleased."
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Brenda Welsh and husband, Donnie of Stephens City, VA and Connie Miller and husband, Steve of Lebanon Church, VA; two sons, Phil Shifflett and wife, Kay of Stephens City, VA and Jeff Shifflett and wife, Leigh of Middletown, VA; ten grandchildren, Angela, Daniel, Amy, Amber, Darcy, Christian, Jaron, Andrew, Lauren, and Justin; five great grandchildren, Wyatt, Mason, McKayla, Jaiden, and Rylee, and a brother, Silas Shifflett of Middletown, VA. A sister, Norma Orndorff and a brother, Jerry Shifflett preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Welsh, Steve Miller, Jr., Daniel Welsh, Josh Pebler, Ronnie Miller, Billy Rieger.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy Amburgey, Tommy Kerns, Steve Hurst, Steve Pufnock, Sean O’Conner, Steve Miller Sr., and Bob German
The family will receive friends at Liberty Baptist Church on Tuesday evening, May 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 9, at Liberty Baptist Church, 1400 Fairfax Pike, Stephens City, VA with Pastor Jackie D. Battles, Pastor Doug Bowers, and Pastor Keith Warren. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Middletown, VA..
